Barbara Landau
Dr. Barbara Landau is a lawyer, psychologist and mediator and a recipient of the prestigious
Order of Canada.

She is a former Board Member and Chair of the Shared Society Committee of JSpaceCanada.
Barbara participated in three Compassionate Listening peacebuilding missions to Israel and
Palestine. She cochairs the Canadian Association of Jews and Muslims (CAJM), bringing
interfaith communities together to hold difficult conversations and build bridges of goodwill and
understanding. She cofounded “Together in Hope,” a Jewish-Palestinian/Arab women’s dialogue
group. Barbara founded the “Heart to Heart” Alumni Program, aimed at building a shared
society for Jewish and Palestinian Israeli youth and their parents.
Barbara recently cofounded a joint Canadian Initiative: Building Bridges to Peace aimed at
reducing interfaith tensions, enhancing awareness of shared society initiatives, and ending the
Middle East conflict with a constructive path to a secure peace.
